Westside Hope Center

Live in person meetings of N.A., A.A. and Al-Anon.

Today is Sunday, usually my biggest day for community and socialization. I was really looking forward to the re-opening of the world. The Delta surge has put a halt to my plans. Now I am feeling really lonely for live in person meetings with my tribe.

For the first time during this 18 month pandemic I am really needing live in person meetings of Primetime, regular Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon and even N.A. Primetime A.A. founder Bob Anderson used to say that advanced treatment for alcoholism was attending Al-Anon Meetings. I really want to branch out from Primetime and also get into Al-Anon. The purpose of this list is to create a resource of all the real life meetings in my area that I can find. Zoom has been great for emergency use during the pandemic but now I am lonely for the real thing. The West Side Hope Center seems to be really happening:

Westside Hope Center, 11313 West Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90291

The Westside Hope Center has been around for over forty years, but I am just now hearing about it. Probably because it seems to be mainly a venue for Narcotics Anonymous meetings. There is a Sunday GRATITUDE MEETING at 10:30AM that looks delicious to me on this lonely Sunday afternoon. I did not start feeling lonely until 11:00AM or else I would have found this and gone. I am making a commitment to my readers to attend this meeting next Sunday. Tomorrow I will go to the JUST FOR TODAY Meeting on Monday at 12:30PM.

Live In Person Al-Anon Meetings at Westside Hope Center

Unfortunately there do not seem to be any non-virtual A.A. meetings near me. I will keep looking and trying. The purpose of creating this post is to have someplace to plug them in, if and when I do find them. For now, check out this YouTube video of the Westside Hope Center. It’s pretty damn good for a no-budget production. I know a little about no-budget video production.
