MOCKUMENTARY HOAX: Horror in the High Desert.

This entire movie is a hoax performed by actors, but the viewer is not privy to this until the end. As my regular readers all know, I love the desert. I have vast personal experience and education in all things desert. Therefore I fell in love with what at first appeared to be an excellent documentary entitled: Horror in the High Desert on Amazon Prime. It is not until the very end that the viewer realizes in horror that this movie is a high desert hoax.

The ending of this movie is as fake as The Blair Witch Project. The purpose of this blog is to save viewers the pain of receiving a sucker punch from the 2017 mockumentary Horror in the High Desert.

Gary Hinge allegedly captured these cheesy images of his killer right before he was murdered

If this movie were true then there would be a murder investigation

Horror in the High Desert shows the digitally blurred photograph of Gary Hing’s severed hand that is the featured image at the top of this post. A few days ago I wrote a post about the fact that the voracious demand for documentaries has reduced the quality of many of the recent documentaries available for streaming. If Gary Hinge’s severed hand was obtained from the police investigation of his truck, then why isn’t there an open homicide investigation?

Gary Hinge Does Not Exist

Mr. Hinge’s sister states that Gary was so intelligent he preferred to be a loner. When we finally see Gary’s YouTube videos, his speech impediment is so glaring that I asked myself: Why didn’t his sister mention his disabilities? It becomes painfully obvious that young Mr. Hinge appears to be functioning very high on the autism spectrum. Or something like that. The kid had so many problems even his roommate refused to go on Gary’s six day survival trips when Gary refused to allow him to bring adequate food and water.

How do we know even know that Gary Hinge has really disappeared?

The sister and others in the movie go on to complain about all of the internet sleuths with their blogs and YouTube channels devoted to finding the deformed killer of Gary Hinge. That is exactly how this whole fiasco got started. Gary Hinge had a survivalist YouTube channel that he needed content for. Now the disappeared Mr. Hinge has himself become the content. Maybe the complainers are afraid that legions of bloggers will expose this high desert horror hoax.

There are no real law enforcement officers in this movie: IS GARY HINGE REALLY DECEASED?

There are no real cops like there are in every other true crime documentary. All we have is an alleged private investigator named Bill. How do we even know that Gary Hinge is deceased? This movie got me so fired up that I have published two blogs about documentaries today.
