Live Nation’s Desecration of Buddhist Religious Symbols

Interfaith Group Calls Out Live Nation on Sacrilegious Use of Religious Icons at the House of Blues

William Kole of the Associated Press reports that an Interfaith group representing Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Jewish and Christian traditions have formed a broad alliance to abolish the “disrespectful” use of sacred Buddhist and Hindu statues as trendy decor at the Foundation Room clubs in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Anaheim that are part of Live Nations’s House of Blues network.

It’s the George Floyd Zeitgeist

Just as all Confederate statues must fall, the Confederate battle flag must be outlawed and the sacrilegious use of Buddhist and Hindu images must be abolished. It is all part of the George Floyd social justice zeitgeist that is purifying the world of inequities.

The House of Blues and all nightclubs & music venues may be closed due to the Great Lock-Down but that has not stopped the zeitgeist from addressing this current hot topic of inequality. We don’t have statues of Jesus and Mary rocking out at the House of Blues do we? Do nightclubs in Buddhist countries contain statues of Jesus? No, and therefore we shouldn’t have the Buddha Bar in America just because American club-goers do not venerate Buddha like Buddhist people do.

The Swastika is Outlawed in Germany and the Confederate Battle Flag Should be Outlawed in America

FROM WIKIPEDIA: “The modern display of the Confederate battle flag began as a response to the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s and continues to this day in support of white nationalist and white supremacist movements, some of which commemorate the defunct Confederate States of America. The flags‘ revival began with Senator Strom Thurmond‘s Dixiecrats in reaction to growing public support for racial equality, alongside opposition to civil rights in 1948.[1][2]
