Simplify My Life
My regular readers will notice that I have removed the bells, whistles and bright shiny objects from today’s blog. Why am I always rushing from one bright shiny object to the next? It is time for me to simplify my life and remove all of the beautiful distractions.
Sheltering at home during the pandemic is turning into a transformational gift. Now that I am in the last years of my life, I really love being alone with no mobile hanging above my crib to distract me.
The last thing I remember is reaching up for the mobile hanging above my crib when I was an infant, and now here I am plastering my website with blogs containing bells and whistles, continually reaching for that next bright shiny object.
There is no easy answer anymore
Senior citizens know better than to chase the bright shiny object called Covid-19 vaccine. Sixty thousand Americans will probably die of the flu this season despite the fact that a flu vaccine exists. Thanks to our public health care system I have been vaccinated against influenza and shingles. When a Covid vaccine exists I will get that too, but until then I will simplify my life by living a monastic lifestyle. For now I will try to moderate my desire to chase the next bright shiny objects.
