The targeted killing of Jared Bridegan has become national news.
True crime is my favorite form of entertainment. This morning finds me obsessed with following Florida crime news about the February 17 targeted killing of pumped-up muscle boy Jared Bridegan. Bridgean was a 33 year-old MicroSoft executive who obviously spent a lot of time pumping iron. In my opinion, Jared Bridegan looks like your typical psychopath next door.
Walks like a Duck
My theory is that Bridegan used his size to intimidate or otherwise overpower his killer on some previous battle field. The aggrieved party then placed a tire in the roadway and when Mr. Bridegan exited his vehicle to remove it, the killer took his revenge. Bang bang, Bridegan is dead.
Reward Increased to $30,000
The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the murderer was increased to $30,000. $30,000 does not seem like a very large reward for a homicide that is now over one month old and rapidly heading towards the cold case file. If his widow is so concerned about finding the killer, she should somehow come up with at least $100,000.
The dark Ford F-150
The cops have one tiny needle in a huge haystack. The dark Ford F-150. Probably a few million of those cruising around the vicinity of the murder. A well financed professional assassin would have disposed of the truck long ago. But maybe Bridegan was whacked by some Florida peckerwood redneck with minimal resources. Maybe Bridegan was killed by someone so poor that they have stashed the truck instead of getting rid of it? Maybe some person of interest is still driving around Florida in the F-150. What if the shooter comes back to finish off rest of the Bridegan clan?
Usually murder happens for a real good reason. Someday soon the truth will come out. The targeted killing of Jared Bridegan may have something to do with the man’s pumped-up body. Maybe it was something Mr. Bridegan ate. If Bridegan was a MicoSoft exec, did he take steroids to leverage his weight lifting workouts. Maybe it was a case of roid rage leading to road rage that led to Bridegan’s premature passing.
