The Body IS The Mind Number One

My new new 4k camara looks and sounds great. However as some of my harsher critics have pointed out, my face is not that photogenic anymore. That’s okay because what I really want to do is create a simple program explaining my synthesis and interpretation of my personal healing and education in childhood trauma. To keep everything organized I am numbering each module and so this is The Body IS The Mind Number One.

RESILIENCE: The Wound is The Gift

What did you do with the gift of trauma? The wound of childhood trauma heals into the gift of resilience. When I always got chosen last in kickball, I decided that I would use my brain to get ahead in life. I never stopped learning new tricks. Here is my very first video that I did over the 4th of July holiday.

This was really just a demo while I was learning Canva, but since this all came directly from my consciousness with no notes, I am calling this video The Body IS The Mind #1. The only edit I would make is to shorten this into just a few seconds:

The Body Keeps The Score

One of the smartest things that my body ever told me to do was to sell my former marital residence in Tujunga and spend the money on a new life. I cashed out my sweet slice of California gold and went to alcohol rehab in Malibu for sixty days. My German shepherd and I ended up living and working at Milestones Ranch Malibu for eighteen months. When that was over we ended up living in our 34′ RV on Pt. Dume. Good thing that dog lasted for 18 years because she was the only reason that I ever made any friends.

The Body IS The Mind is greatly influenced by THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE
The Body IS The Mind

With the notoriously loud waves of Malibu crashing in the background, trauma release therapist Gerry Greenberg put me back into my body with hypnosis and Jungian astrology. In the prevailing years yoga teachers have also taught me how to stay inside of my body instead of bending time and space as a shape-shifting yogi. Ekhart Tolle even taught me how to meditate the breath into the body. But what really enlightened me was the book Anchored in which I more fully experienced my autonomic nervous system in the moment that I disconnect and leave my body.

Trauma Awareness

Understanding adverse childhood experiences leading to post-traumatic stress disorder is the next big thing in healing. It all comes down to the individual response to the traumatic memory. The traumatic injury can never be treated and so discussing it can often be counter-productive. My healing was a reprocessing of my memories with EMDR. The traumatic memory can never be erased. In my case the memory was made much smaller and less intrusive upon my thoughts. I continue to make the memory smaller by enhancing my positive memories buried down deep alongside the traumatic memories. My adverse childhood made me into an extremely resilient human being who is continuing to learn, grow and creatively express myself.
