Unclean Hands

Bribery, Unclean Hands, and the Future of Palm Springs

The bribery and corruption charges against John Wessman prevent anyone from his family from ever dealing fairly with the citizens of Palm Springs. Wessman’s daughter even said on camera that this is personal. She is telling PS that the Wessman family is going to get their way no matter what.  Her husband Michael Braun’s name is all over the DA’s complaint and his unclean hands remain Wessman’s instruments of eternal revenge. Read the complaint below and ask yourself how Mr. Braun could possibly remain involved with the City of Palm Springs.

Who is Watching Out For the Little Guy? Palm Springs seems to have a higher per capita incidence of homelessness and Wessman’s proposed public park does not even have a public drinking fountain in the blueprints. Does the new downtown park have public restrooms? Does the new downtown park have free public parking or will locals have to pay to park in Wessman’s new parking structure at his 155 room hotel? This feels personal just like Wessman’s daughter said it was.

Put Immigration on Hold For Now: Why is Palm Springs Councilman Geoff Kors holding immigration rallies when PS seems to have a higher rate of homelessness that LA?  My maternal grand-parents and ex-wife were immigrants, if there is a problem with immigration, I will let you know.  Palm Springs has much more pressing problems that need to be fixed so that immigrants will even want to come to this inhospitable desert. Downtown Palm Springs has been a construction zone for years and will probably remain under construction for a decade or more. Wessman industries has stolen public money and must be held accountable. I want to see more action from my elected officers on domestic issues. If you want to take on the FBI then please write to the guy that has ex PS Mayor Sonny Bono’s old job: your congressman.

Civil Uprising: There is no time to wait until the guilty verdicts, prison sentences and million dollar fines are handed out to Wessman and Pougnet. Who would even want to stay in the Wessman Kimpton Revenge Hotel? PS needs to tar and feather the entire Wessman conspiracy clan and run them out of town on a rail along with the horse they rode in on. Just like the two con artists in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain.

USA TODAY | February 16, 2017 |  After an unsuccessful bid for congress in 2010, he focused his attention back on some of the vacant property downtown, which he’d previously threatened to take, and transform, through eminent domain.

This time around, Pougnet found himself allied with developer and property owner John Wessman. The two campaigned for Measure J, a one-percent increase in sales and use tax to help fund redevelopment. Wessman put up more than $95,000 for the “Yes on Measure J” campaign while Harold Matzner, chair of the Palm Springs International Film Festival who later gave Pougnet a fundraising job, put up $52,000.

Anyone organization dealing with Pougnet, Meany and Wessman is permanently tainted with unclean hands. Influence can be easily purchased in Palm Springs. The government’s arrest warrant reads like a movie script. This complaint for bribery looks like an ironclad case against Pougnet, Meany & Wessman.
