ZEN LIBRARY

Zen Buddhism Has Been My Constant Companion.

The purpose of this article is to serve as cloud storage for my collection of Zen Buddhism PDF files. I have added a new menu item on my header for this blog entitled simply “Library.” The following books are all in the public domain.

Practicing Zen meditation is one of the most important aspects of my life. Meditation helped me to recover from alcoholism. Meditation and yoga have enabled me to make peace with the coronavirus pandemic that has been dragging on for over a year and a half now.

You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.” -Charlie “Tremendous” Jones. This morning I am sublimely grateful for the friends who introduced me to Zen books and Zen writers. I consider Alan Watts to be a person that I have met, even though his physical body was long gone before I ever heard his name.

The author, speaker and radio talk show host who popularized Zen Buddhism in America: Alan Watts

When I was seventeen years old I purchased a copy of How to Meditate Without Taking a TM Class. Discovering Zen Buddhism at age nineteen really opened up my mindfulness. Meditation has been one of the great constants in my life. Zen meditation helped me to recover from alcoholism and it is helping me through this second year of coronavirus pandemic social isolation during the Delta surge.

Zen has helped me to make peace with the unvaccinated non-masked people of the world who are prolonging the pandemic. My Buddha Mind has opened me up to my dormant compassion. Christ consciousness has opened my heart to love. I will spend my time studying Zen and meditating.

When the coronavirus pandemic is finally over I will be checking out Buddhist recovery meetings at Refuge Recovery, 2516 Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA 90291.
